Independent Worm Saloon – Butthole Surfers

Independent Worm Saloon by the Butthole Surfers may conjure a specific image in your head. If you had to guess the musicality of a band named the Butthole Surfers with album names like this, Hairway to Steven, Rembrandt Pussyhorse and Electriclarryland (soon to be on new listens), you can’t be too far off.

Independent Worm Saloon is a ruckus punk-rock album with off the wall (but often great) lyrics, song structure, vocal performances and riffs. However, it comes together with some great songs, some hilarious ones that provide some great entertainment value, and some that mesh a perfect mix of the two. Independent Worm Saloon was a very fun listen and certainly recommended to anyone that is a fan of punk that isn’t a music snob, or offended by giving a fuck about the FBI, CIA, or anything at all.

Favorite songs: Who Was In My Room Last Night, Tongue, Goofy’s Concern (and the Chewin’ George Lucas’ Chocolate interlude), Strawberry, Some Dispute Over T-Shirt Sales.
