Bigger Than Both Of Us – Hall & Oates

Bigger Than Both Of Us is a nice album. Rich Girl is the track that you probably know if to have no idea who the fuck Hall & Oates are, but I would encourage any listener of this album to dive deeper into it – there is some groovy shit on here! Way groovier than I expected. It makes me want to listen to more of their shit which is pretty much the goal for an album in a sense. However I did see a tweet right after I listened to this album that basically said there’s nothing wrong with this but I understand why punk arose after it along with a clip of Rich Girl being performed live (below) – and I kind of thing that sums my feelings up a lot. I like this album. There’s nothing wrong with it, but in a way it won’t compare to some of the nuanced shit that exists in the world, that more energetic stuff, especially for my ear.

Favorite songs: Rich Girl, Crazy Eyes, Do What You Want, Be What You Are (this one by a lot), Kerry, You’ll Never Learn

  1. To me, Hall & Oates have one great song, “Sarah Smile”. The rest is kitsch.
