Tyler’s recent albums have flown under my radar for some reason – maybe because I am not the biggest fan of his voice – but regardless of reason, I’ve never gotten around to listening to them. I have always respected him as a musician, as he has become one of the best rapper-producers currently making music.
Igor solidifies this opinion in many ways. The musicality of the album is fantastic, and the album flows fantastically. He earns a ton of points on the ranks for how much this is an album – not just a collection of songs, a gripe I have with many artists. However, his voice on the album still brings me to have a few issues with it. It’s a bit polarizing – kind of like how some people feel about the Kendrick high pitch voice. Tyler has the same reaction with his pitched vocals on this. Some of them really work for me, some do not. Regardless, Igor is good.
