Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight – Travis Scott

Travis Scott. The controversial. The man named Jacque. The shortest 5’10 man on the planet. The Kardashian associate. The bystander. The man who worked with Kanye on Yeezus, only to turn around and rap the following lines on this album:

Sprinkle a little season on the salad
Relieve my heart of malice, hit my palace
Stroke my cactus, ohh, don’t wait

If this album was 5 and a half minutes long, it would be fantastic. The ends is amazing, one of his best verses ever. Dude, you got a fucking Andre 3000 feature. In 2016. Albeit a lot less impressive than getting one now, that’s still a crazy feat. And he killed it! Andre totally could’ve phoned in that verse, but it is fucking great. Then the first half of way back, amazing. Great Hit Boi beat, but what’s new.

Then, what the actual fuck happened. Coordinate is brutal. Torturous music. Then Cudi moo’s through all of “through the late night”, only to be followed up by the above lines, along with:

Play no games like the NBA
Throwin’ checks like the NBA
You a ring, you a ring
We shootin’ shots like the NRA

It should really say something when Nav comes in on the next song and it’s nice to hear him. It’s nice to hear Nav. That should tell you all you need to know. SDP interlude, Sweet Sweet, Goosebumps are all not bad (also Kendrick being featured on Goosebumps is something I completely forgot about?). I also forgot about the Pick up the Phone debacle, the song that was simply on multiple albums as well as a single. God this album is all over the fucking place. Also, I’m going to link through the late night & beibs in the trap just because in the former – you should have to listen to those lines said (it’s worse than typed) and the latter – he does a funny dance

Favorite songs: the ends, way back, sdp interlude, goosebumps
