Known over time for Crew, At What Cost by Goldlink is a very unique album with some unique, varied sounds. Poppier cuts (Crew, Have You Seen That Girl), songs that make you wanna move (Meditation, which btw, Kaytranada is so fucking good everytime), laid back songs (Summatime, Herside Story), and then some Indie sounding songs, namely the Steve Lacy song. Which is maybe the most Steve Lacy sounding beat of all time. All of them work well with Goldlink’s smooth vocals, making this an even better revisit than anticipated.
Favorite songs: Same Clothes as Yesterday, Have You Seen That Girl, Meditation, Summatime, Crew, Some Girl, Pray Everyday (Survivor’s Guilt)
