Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA mash their abrasive styles on one of the best titled albums of all time. If you are confused about what this title means exactly – you’re overthinking it. They both make music that scares the hoes.
This thought is teased hilariously in the title track:
Stop scarin’ the hoes
Play that shit’ll have them touch they toes
“We don’t wanna hear that weird shit no more”
“What the fuck is that? Give me back my aux cord”
A perfect segue to the brunt of this review; if you think this shit is too weird, I totally fucking get it. Danny Brown has one of the most unique and abrasive deliveries of all time, and JPEGMAFIA has a very brash production style often with dissonant, clashing sounds. Not to mention his second most recent album (which I loved) was literally called Jesus Forgive Me, I Am A Thot, and he has a song titled I Cannot Fucking Wait Til Morrissey Dies.
However, if you can get into this, it’s wild beats, some great bars and deliveries. If you wanna test the waters, listen to Burfict! or the title track. It only gets more in the weeds from there.
