Live in Cook County Jail – B.B. King

What more is there to say about this? My first full listen to one of the most iconic albums by Blues legend B.B. King. Aside from a bit of strangely placed misogynistic lyrics here and there (but thankfully quite sparse and condensed), this is a fantastic Blues album, and even my uninformed Blues ears know it’s also one of the best.

Favorite songs: How Blue Can You Get?, Worry, Worry, Worry, Sweet Sixteen, Thrill is Gone (easily the best for me. Do I even need to say this? the song I link below is usually my favorite, or the one with a funny video. But usually my favorite), Please Accept My Love

  1. This is one of the greatest live Blues albums ever recorded. I remember once that Johnny Cash described inmates as the “best audience” because they were just so appreciative to hear live music, especially from a talented musician. When B.B. gets going with “Lucille”, there’s no stopping the two of them. ?? ________________________________
