365 – New Music Daily

The second Toro y Moi album to grace this blog, and perhaps not the last. Chaz’s most recent record is definitely a step in a different direction – though that is to be expected with his career arch, which has been chillwave to house to psych rock, back to house, and now this sort of blend of genres. There are some really strange cuts – just listen to the first 10 seconds of postman to understand what I mean – some incredibly groovy songs (which tend to be my favorite) and then some rather grandiose productions, like the intro. Overall, it’s not my favorite from Chaz, but it’s solid, and I really like a few of these songs. Would recommend a skim through.
