365 – New Music Daily

Steve from Stranger Things strikes my blog again! I will now just call him Joe. Or Djo. Like Django Unchained.

I thought this album was good, but not as good as the previous record for two main reasons. One, songwriting. I didn’t think the songwriting was bad by any means here, but the themes of modernity, phones, etc., do not tend to work very well with me, especially presented in a black and white fashion.

Two, the general sonic profile here is a completely different style of Psych Rock, which veers away from the sort of dreamy psych rocky sound that he captured in the first release. Both of these are totally subjective though, and I still thought this was some good shit.
