The newest release from Dinner Party is the second album from the trio of Robert Glasper, Terrance Martin and Kamasi Washington that my blog has been graced with. The first album was tight, groovy and super catchy – and I think this may have been because that album had production from one of the best (and most underrated) producers, 9th Wonder (who produced Without You by .Paak, the amazing Duckworth by Kendrick Lamar, and has one of the most breathtaking Rhythm Roulette’s you will ever see, linked below). 9th Wonder is still on some of the songs here, which turn out to be my favorites.
This album is still good – they are seriously amazing jazz musicians, but it lacks the same replay value that the trio’s first release had. Still worth checking out.
