Beatles week!!! Totally still on. Revolver is regarded as one of the best Beatles projects, but honestly I’m going to stop saying that because I feel like people say that about damn near every Beatles project. Or maybe not, but whatever you gather from this sentence is true.
Revolver is definitely good. First point here, how is Yellow Submarine on this. What the fuck. That was legitimately scary to hear that come up. Second point here, I kinda hate Eleanor Rigby. I’m just over it. It’s not bad, nor is most of the Beatles shit I hear that I’m not a fan of. I just don’t like Eleanor Rigby.
I thought this album had it’s high points, but upon initial listening and in reflection, I was certainly less impressed with this than some of the other releases. Abbey Road had some of their best songs and the insane Pink Floyd run. Rubber Soul didn’t have the high points of others, but consistently was good. Some of these songs are just okay to me. Certianly not below Sgt. Pepper, but firmly #4 of the current 5.
Favorite songs: Taxman, Here, There, And Everywhere, For No One, Doctor Robert, Got To Get You Into My Life
