Discovery – Daft Punk

Daft Punk’s 2001 Discovery is one of the best things to ever come from electronic/house music and I don’t think that’s really up for debate. Completely ignoring the fact that this album has a movie attached to it that can be seen as converting the album to a linear soundtrack for a film (which, by the way, should not be ignored at all), the sheer musical quality and influence of this album is truly remarkable.

From some of the most iconic electronic house songs of all time (One More Time, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger) to the dreamy, interstellar love songs (Something About Us is so good!) and all of the funky loops in between, this album is truly fucking incredible. I could wax poetic about this here thing or that there thingy but really, if you are into house or even electronic music at all this is required listening. Even if not, check out a few of these songs.

Favorite songs: One More Time, Digital Love, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, Superheroes, Something About Us, Voyager, Veridis Quo, Face to Face

  1. The best thing about this review is your enthusiasm. I’m never been into this sound but I will go deeper to hear what you’re hearing. ?? ________________________________
