This review has been sitting in here for a while. Full disclosure, and I can’t believe I’m typing this but
I don’t always listen to albums in the month that they’re posted
There, I said it. I listened to this album in the beginning of May.
Anyways, it’s been sitting in the queue for a minute, mostly because I had nothing of substance to say. Guess what, I still don’t. It’s Steely Dan. Listen to what Steely Dan’s music sounds like. It’s pretty good. Steely Dan. I imagine some guy named Dan just decided to add something about Steel. Maybe he worked in a steel mill and was the guitar guy at the steel mill and his name was Steely Dan so he became Steely Dan.
Maybe he really likes steel wool. Maybe he likes the way steel is shiny. Maybe he is a huge Pokemon fan decades before it existed. Maybe he is a big Steelers guy. Or maybe he is a kleptomaniac (bad joke, I know). I refuse to google it so pick your favorite theory.
It’s pretty good. Some of the riffs/song structures can get really repetitive. But the best ones are worth throwing in the rotation. Dan from the steel mill.
Favorite songs: Do It Again, Kings, Midnite Cruiser, Only a Fool Would Say That, Change of Guard, Turn That Heartbeat Over Again
