Psychedelic Porn Crumpets – And Now For The Watchamacallit (Psych Rock)

The Crumpets have been hanging around this blog for some time, and is another band that I’m going to see in the near future (though this time, I have someone to go with. cool.) and are an underrated band in the oversaturated scene of psychedelic rock. Also, would you spell psychedelic with an e after the h, or an a? I always type an a. No one cares!

I think their 2016 release with Found God In a Tomato will always top their discography for me, but this one is cool, and I really respect their musicianship. We’re banging out reviews here, man. I’ll redeem for all the short form. Also Pitbull is coming up. Can’t we just skip to the good parts?

Solid psych rock, a bit forgettable. That’s the synopsis.

Ten Years After – A Space In Time (Alternative Rock)

Very 70’s instrumentally and vocally with a lot of acoustic driven songs makes up Ten Years After’s sound on this record. With the genesis of this listen being a song radio, it’s not a huge surprise that this is a band with one really big song, and in my opinion, one really good song. The rest of this album aside from the below track is pretty meh, pretty repetitive, and just not really that interesting. But I do really like the below song and associated riff. Woot

Khraungbin – Con Todo El Mundo (Jam/Rock)

Outside of the Strokes, Khraungbin is perhaps the band that has grown on me the most throughout this listening campaign, and a band that continues to impress, even with every re-listen. The guitar playing especially is absolutely phenomenal, as is every single fucking bassline, and literally every single one of their albums is fantastic. If you are reading this and dismiss Khraungbin as another jam band, ya damn wrong sonny boy. They are fantastic.
